Lyric soprano Lubov Karenikovais celebrated for her powerful, warm, and silvery voice, captivating stage presence, and refined musicality. She is the First Prizewinner at the DebutCompetition 2024, that marks a significant milestone in her expanding international career.

In the season 2024/2025, Lubov returns to the Latvian National Operaas Adina in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore and makes her house and role debut at the Frankfurt Opera House as Rosalie in Dittersdorf’s Singspiel Doktor und Apotheker.

In May 2025, Lubov will make her debut as Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanniat Theater Meiningen, where she will join the ensemble for the 2025/26 season and perform such roles as Didone in Sarro’s Didoneand Mimi in Puccini’s La Boheme, among others. Recent roles have included Juliette Vermont in Franz Lehár’s Der Graf von Luxemburgat the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutteat Teatri di Pistoia, and Adina in Sven-Eric Bechtolf’s production of L’elisir d’amore at the Latvian National Opera.

Earlier roles in her career include Gilda in Verdi’s Rigolettoat Theater Hof, Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflötein Trentino, and Nannetta in Verdi’s Falstaffat the Lithuanian National Philharmonic.

Lubov is also an accomplished chamber singer with a diverse art song repertoire. She collaborates with various festivals and cultural institutions and has performed at venues such as Wigmore Hall, Riga Guild Hall, the Latvian National Theatre, Dzintari Concert Hall, Flagey in Brussels, among others. Born in the United States, Lubov grew up in Latvia and has Ukrainian roots. She earned her degrees in Opera as well as Lied and Oratorio performance from the Latvian Music Academy, the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, and the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.

She has studied with Irena Milkevičiūtė, Barbara Bonney, Wolfgang Holzmair, Tamar Rachum and Liene Kinča, and has participated in Masterclasses with Thomas Hampson and Clarry Bartha, amongst others.
