Hagar Sharvit is an Israeli Mezzo-Soprano, Born in Tel-Aviv. 2022-2023 Hagar will perform in a gala concert and as Hänsel in Humperdinck’s Hansel und Gretel with the Schleswig-Holstein Landestheater; The singer will then perform Hänsel again in the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and will continue to sing there as Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, as Trommler in Ullmann’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis and Mathilda in Lucia Roncchetti’s Das fliegende Klassenzimmer; Hagar will sing the alto solo in Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle in Opera de Tours in France; she will perform in recitals in Israel with pianist Graham Johnson in the Israeli Schubertiade; in recitals with pianist Daniel Gerzenberg in Strahlsund and Berlin and with the Baroque orchestra of Jerusalem in a performance of Cantata 106, by J.S. Bach. After finishing her studies in the Buchmann-Mehta school of music, Hagar Sharvit moved to Europe and has been constantly singing there since 2011. She is the recipient of the 1st prize and audience prize in the Das Lied international song competition.
Hagar is an accomplished singer in the Art Song genre. She won prizes in several international Lied competitions such as the Brahms competition, the Hugo Wolf competition, the Schubert competition, the Lyon chamber music competition, the Schumann competition and the Gianni Bergamo award in Lugano. She has performed with acclaimed pianists such as Daniel Gerzenberg, Ammiel Bushakevitz, Eric Schneider, Helmut Deutsch, Kevin Murphy and more. She performed in many recitals in venues such as the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, the Lucerne Festival, the Heidelberger Frühling festival, the Hugo Wolf academy, the Theatere de la ville and the Musee D’orsay in Paris, Liederhalle Beethovensaal in Stuttgart and more.
Hagar’s operatic repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary music. Amongst her many baroque roles are Ottavia from Monteverdi l’incoronazione di Poppea in Mupa Budapest; Ismene from Salieri’s Armida with Les Talens Lyriques orchestra, in Theater an der Wien; Emira in Hasse’s Siroe in the dutch Reisoper conducted by George Petrou; The sorceress in Purcell’s Dido and Eneas in the Valencia opera house. She sang many Handel roles such as Amastre (Xerxes) in the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater, Opera Bonn and in the Schleswig-Holstein Landestheater, Dejaneira (Hercules) and Nerone (Agrippina) in Oldenburg, Irene (Theodora) in the Victoria hall in Geneva.
She sang in all the Da Ponte, Mozart operas – Cherubino in “Le Nozze di Figaro” (Valencia and Oldenburg), Dorabella in “Cosi fan tutte” (Tel-Aviv) and Zerlina in “Don Giovanni” (Bregenz festival) as well as the second lady (Salzburger Festspiele) and third lady in the “Magic Flute” (The Israeli Opera). In the romantic French, Italian and German operas she performed as: Smethon from Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena” in performances in the Musikverein in Vienna and in Gasteig Munich; the Marquise de Birkenfeld in Donizetti’s “La fille du régiment”; the title role in Rossini’s “Cenerentola” in Oldenburg and Thisbe in Metz Opera; Valencienne in Lehars’ “The merry widow”, Hansel in Humperdinck’s “Hansel und Gretel”, Mercedes in Bizet’s “Carmen” in Oldenburg. In the modern and contemporary repertoire Hagar performed in the title role in Jonathan Dove’s “The adventures of Pinocchio”; Isabelle in Boesmann’s “Yvonne the princess of Burgundy”; Mrs. Alexander in Glass’ “Satyagraha”; Hermia in Britten’s “Midsummer night’s dream”.
In the season of 2021/2022 Hagar performed among others in the George Enescu Festival in Bucharest, in the opera “Der Zwerg” by Zemlinsky, conducted by Oleg Caetani, and with the radio romania national orchestra; In the Israeli Opera as the Dritte Dame in “Die Zauberflöte”, in Opera de Tours as Albine in the opera “Thais” by Massenet, conducted by Maestro Michel Plasson; in the Bavarian state opera, in the new opera “Das kind der Seehundfrau” by Jesse Broekman. in a Liederabend with Thomas Quasthoff, Nikola Hillebrand and Johann Kristinson in the Heidelberger Frühling festival with pianist Alexander Fleischer; with pianist Ammiel Bushakevitz in the Christophori Salon; with pianist Daniel Gerzenberg in performances in the Bel-Air piano festival, in the Kühlhaus Berlin, in the Tonali hall in Hamburg, and in the project “Lieder für das Jetzt” in the Heidelberger Frühling; with pianist Kunal Lahiri in the Belissima festival; a Bach historic concert in Leipzig’s Thomas Kirche with Les Talens Lyriques orchestra, conducted by Christophe Rousset.
